Dog Sledding Tours Canada

Sleeding dog?
I'm considering a career with dogs and I've visited a sled dog tour guide service in Alberta and now I'm hooked and wants to get a career in dog sledding. Not much information is really like a career in this type of work, but I'm guessing the formation with a tour guide service would benefit from any work I wanted to pick a dog musher or a trainer of sled dogs. Is there a course of college courses or someone would have to go to these races or is mainly of learning? and websites with more information would also be very helpful! Thanks guys!
Learning mostly. Many people start as a driver for some of the largest kennels, feeding and excercise working dogs. Here is a link # http://www.sleddogcentral.com/classifieds/classads_wanted.htm helpwanted (I know that the links are absurd NOW – and then go to www.sleddogcentral.com click ads should see the "Help / drivers wanted") You can find a position that gives you room / board and maybe a few dollars per hour to take home. I know a man who fell from highschool hitchhike to Alaska (from 48!) And got a job as a driver – who now runs his own Comets travel company and long distance races – he loves what he does! Some courses you may want to consider: the hospitality business (if you think you can want to run a set of travel) Genetics Animal Biology Nutrition Basically take pre-vet. You want a solid understanding on health and care their dogs. I mean, is your Livelihood! Also a friend of mine went to the University of Wisconson – had really Sleding Dog as a PE credit! That could be an awsome way to see if it is right for you, learn to cope with the cold temps and get education at all at the same time, there's a lot of options working with sled dogs. You can own your own computer business, running a business or even be a tourist guide or a regulatory pathway for the races. Definitely check out who are the sleddogcentral.com bombdiggity for all things dog sled in the network.
